One of the latest Coca-Cola commercials, released to celebrate the 2016 Olympic Games, shows “how gold feels like”, with a series of answers given by Olympic Gold Medal winners and their reactions after having won the medals they had striven for.
The South Korean sabre fencer Won Woo Young says “it’s a feeling you can’t contain”. The Welsh taekwondo athlete Jade Jones says that “it makes you feel alive”. According to the Australian athlete Sally Pearson, it is “a joy you need to share”. “It bubbles inside you” – is the response of the Croatian water polo player Petar Muslim. The high jumper Yuliya Levchenko from Ukraine says that “you just can’t describe it”. “I’ve craved this for so long” – says the Brazilian volleyball player Fabiana Claudino.
The final onscreen lines are “Gold is a feeling that anyone can taste. #ThatsGold”.
The song in the background is Coca-Cola’s anthem, “Taste The Feeling”, performed by Avicii and Conrad Sewell.
